The Upper Dublin School District is proud to announce that Dr. Luther Green, Jr. was recently appointed as its new Athletic Director.
Green will come to Upper Dublin from Central Dauphin School District in Harrisburg, where he serves as the principal of Central Dauphin East High School. He has also held administrative positions with Chambersburg Area School District and Carlisle Area School District. With a career spanning twenty years, Green started as a health and physical education teacher, dedicating twelve years to that role.
A first-generation college graduate, Green holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Rhode Island, a Master of Science in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Education in Administrative Leadership from California University of Pennsylvania, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Shippensburg University. He is also a nationally-certified Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-PES) and a USA Track and Field Level 2 Coach, specializing in sprints, hurdles, and relays.
“I am honored to take on the role of Director of Athletics for the Upper Dublin School District,” said Green. “Coming from one of the most diverse high schools in Pennsylvania, I am deeply committed to ensuring that every student-athlete and staff member, regardless of their circumstances, realizes their full potential. I believe that athletics and extracurricular activities are essential components of a holistic educational experience.”
For the Upper Dublin team, the depth of Green’s experience was a key factor in his selection. “We are excited to welcome Dr. Green to the Upper Dublin family. His extensive background in athletics and leadership, and his passion for both, will make him an outstanding addition to oversee our athletics program,” said Robert Schultz, Upper Dublin High School Principal.
