The entire community will help celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl victory this Friday with the championship parade.
The celebrations are an important Rite of Passage for Philadelphia sports fans, and many people of all ages will take time off work and/or school to show their appreciation for the Eagles.
Due to this, the Upper Dublin School District has announced that Friday will count as an excused absence if you wish to attend the parade.
“Absences from school are excused when an acceptable reason for the absence is provided in written note form within three (3) school days of the absence,” the District said in its announcement. “Our district will consider attendance at the Eagles parade an acceptable reason.”
If your child attends the parade, please submit a written excuse for the absence indicating "Eagles Parade" as the absence reason no later than Feb. 20, 2025, the District announced.
“It was certainly a remarkable weekend for the Philadelphia Eagles!” the School District said in its announcement. “Any championship is an exciting opportunity to rally the community together and share in the enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see so many displays of Eagles' spirit across our schools, and we hope you enjoyed watching the game with family and friends.”
UDSD will remain open on Friday and operate under a normal schedule if any student wishes to attend school.
“While we understand that many of our students and families may be considering attending the upcoming Philadelphia Eagles' parade, our schools will operate under a normal schedule for this Friday, February 14.”
The School District’s attendance policies and procedures are outlined in its student handbooks.
