The Philadelphia Phillies played a baseball game today.

The Phillies' first spring training game of 2025 was not televised.

That's inexcusable.

But sources confirm that baseball did indeed take place on Saturday in Lakeland, FL.

Scott Franzke and Kevin Stocker provided audio on SportsRadio 94 WIP, Buddy Kennedy hit a two-run home run, and new Phillies outfielder Max Kepler added a two-run single as the Phils lost to the Detroit Tigers, 7-6.

The Phils did post some clips from the game on social media. Here's the Kepler single:

And here's the Buddy Kennedy HR:

Minor league catcher Josh Breaux hit a home run for the Phillies as well. You'll just have to picture him using this bat to hit a ball over the right-center field wall at Joker Marchant Stadium.

Among Phillies regulars who played in the game:

- Johan Rojas lined an RBI single to right field;

- Bryson Stott walked twice and scored a run; and

- Alec Bohm singled.

Phils pitching blew a 6-1 sixth-inning lead.

Sunday's Phillies game against the Orioles will be televised by NBC Sports Philadelphia. First pitch from Clearwater is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
