An Ambler woman was killed in a Worcester Township crash over the weekend, Pennsylvania State Police at Philadelphia announced Saturday night.

Police said Ilene C. Zeff, also known as Ilene Giannini, 65, of the 500 block of Vista Road, suffered a fatal injury in the wreck on Valley Forge Road at Woodlyn Avenue. Zeff was a resident of the Ambler section (mailing address) of the township.

Zeff was transported from the scene to Einstein Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the striking vehicle – a 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 – is a 37-year-old from Lower Providence Township named David J. Starks, police said. Starks was uninjured in the crash and was not transported, police said.

Police said Zeff was stopped in a 2016 Nissan Rogue after traveling west on Woodlyn Avenue at a stop sign at Valley Forge Road. Starks was heading north on Valley Forge Road, police said.

Zeff traveled abruptly into the northbound lane, police said, and the Dodge hit the driver side of Zeff’s Nissan with its front bumper.

The Nissan traveled northwest about 63 feet due to the crash and made impact with a fence with its front bumper, coming to rest along a grassy area, facing northbound on the southbound shoulder of Valley Forge Road, police said.

The Dodge continued north about 95 feet and came to rest in a grassy area on the right side of Valley Forge Road northbound, police said.
