Sen. Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery) announced that Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has awarded $1,320,186 in grant funding to improve roadways, support watersheds, and develop recreation in her district.
“These transportation grants are key to keeping our neighborhoods safe and walkable while bringing new jobs to our region,” Sen. Collett said. “I was pleased to work alongside local government partners and my colleagues in the House to support these worthy projects, and I look forward to continuing our work to protect pedestrians, reduce traffic congestion, and conserve our environment.”
Multimodal Transportation Fund grant awards in the 12th District include:
$350K for Intersection Improvements in Ambler
Mattison Development LLC will receive $350,000 to improve the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Lindenwold Terrace in Ambler Borough.
“Investing in our local infrastructure is essential for safety, accessibility and economic growth,” Rep. Melissa Cerrato (D-151) said. “This project will improve one of our community’s major intersections, making travel safer and more efficient for residents, businesses and visitors alike. I’m proud to support this effort and advocate for the necessary funding to move it forward.”
$245K for Penllyn Train Trail Connection Project
Lower Gwynedd Township will receive $245,186 to develop a walking trail of approximately one-half mile to connect Penllyn Train Station to Pen-Ambler Park and the mixed-use development of Ambler Yards.
“Expanding pedestrian infrastructure strengthens our communities by improving accessibility, safety and connectivity,” Rep. Liz Hanbidge (D-61) said. “This trail will provide residents with a safe, walkable link between key destinations in Lower Gwynedd Township, encouraging more people to walk, bike and enjoy our local amenities.”

$300K For Alden Road Repairs
Bryn Athyn Borough will receive $300,000 for repairs to Alden Road, between Fetters Mill Road and Huntingdon Pike.
$175K For Blair Mill Road Roadway Project
Upper Moreland Township will receive $175,000 for roadway improvements along Blair Mill Road.
“I am very excited for the $475,000 of funding coming back into our district through the Multimodal Transportation Fund,” said Rep. Nancy Guenst (D-152). “Bryn Athyn and Upper Moreland are high traffic areas in our districts. Roadway improvements are an urgent issue that impacts economic development and quality of life, and I look forward to these projects getting started.”
$250K for Cannon Avenue Rehabilitation
Lansdale Borough will receive $250,000 for Cannon Avenue Rehabilitation Phase II to make stormwater sewer and pedestrian safety upgrades to Cannon Avenue.
Representative Steve Malagari (D-53) commented: “Investments in infrastructure are investments in our community. I am very happy to have worked with Senator Collett to secure these funds for cleaner water and safer roadways.”
The CFA is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) responsible for administering Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages, including the Multimodal Transportation Fund.
