Ambler helping Ambler: Ambler Savings Bank makes year-end contribution to Act II Playhouse

The playhouse ended its year on a high note, albeit the check was tough to fit into the ATM.

The Act II Playhouse ended 2024 on a high note with a large donation from the Ambler Savings Bank, one of the theatre company’s longtime supporters.

“If pictures are worth a thousand words, then these photos are worth at least six thousand!” joked Tony Braithwaite, the Act II Playhouse’s artistic director. “Ambler Savings Bank has been a steadfast supporter of Act II Playhouse for decades, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Though we wish they made their contribution a little smaller. This check wouldn’t fit in the ATM!”

Braithwaite said that the bank was not the only contributor that made the holidays bright for this local entertainment landmark.

“While not all of our supporters hand over giant checks, each contribution – whether from individual donors, local businesses, or corporate sponsors – helps us keep Act II’s curtains rising season after season,” said Braithwaite.

A main support of the local theatre organization, Braithwaite said the group’s ongoing schedule could not go on without the crucial donations from the Ambler and surrounding area’s contributors.

“[It is an] incredible community that keeps The Playhouse thriving,” said Braithwaite. “From small gifts of $10, to our Corporate Sponsorship Program, there’s a way for everyone to make an impact.”
