Students at all grade levels often must put in a good amount of work to achieve success. From homework assignments to studying for exams, there is plenty of effort required to find success.
Wissahickon High School’s (WHS) Noah Johnson, a senior this school year, knows all about that hard work. He was recently named the Student of the Quarter by the Blue Bell Rotary.
Nominated by his WHS Counselor Marissa Samit, Johnson was recognized for his work, especially “for displaying good citizenship, ethics, honor, and kindness.”
Beyond his schoolwork, Johnson also finds time to give back to the local community.
“Noah is a volunteer firefighter at Centre Square Fire Company and a nationally certified EMT with Plymouth Community Ambulance Association,” said Kristen Rawlings, communications coordinator for the Wissahickon School District, via a district social media post. “He likes making a difference on every call, as well as participating in community outreach.”
At WHS, Johnson isn’t just focused on his studies. There he is also a member of high school’s Key Club and Interact Club. Additionally, he has participated in “Wiss Link” and “Wiss Pals” programs. These two clubs serve both the school and local communities, according to Rawlings.
"True leadership is not about being in charge or taking credit, but rather is about empowering others, lifting people up, and showing them that when we work together, we can achieve so much more," said Johnson, during his speech to the Blue Bell Rotary Club. "The power of our community lies in all of us."
