The 26th Fireside Frostbite Five Miler will take place on Sat., Feb. 22.

The Ambler Area Running Club is gearing up for its 26th Fireside Frostbite Five Miler. Registration is open until Feb. 15 online.

The race will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The run is on a United States of America Track & Field, or USATF-certified, course and is the kick-off event of the 2025 MidAtlantic USATF Gran Prix. The annual circuit consists of 11 races of varying popular distances using USATF-certified courses and offering USATF sanctions.

Registration for in-person race will be limited to 1,500 participants. Online registration ends on Feb. 15, 2025 or when that limit is reached. Race Day registration will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in the school gymnasium.

Registration fees will be $50 for adults and $45 for students if received after Jan. 17.

This race will be held in snow, sleet, rain or shine unless cancelled for safety reasons.

There are no refunds. Ambler is urging runners to avoid the race-day lines and pick up their bib on Friday night at the Ambler Theater from 4:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Cash awards will be rewarded to: $250 to overall male and female; $100 to 2nd place male and female, $50 to 3rd place male and female, and $100 to the top Male and female masters.

“If you are not at the 2.9 mile mark of the course within one hour of the start of the race you will be asked to divert in to the parking lot at Wissahickon School District and we will make every effort to mark out a 5K finish line for you,” it states on the website. “You can then proceed across the property to Wissahickon High School for post race events.”
