The Upper Dublin High School Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) hosted the FBLA Regional Leadership Conference on Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Upper Dublin Public Library. The competition welcomed students from 14 schools in the Greater Philadelphia area to participate in 100 performance events and 450 objective tests, which are subject-specific assessments on a range of topics, such as accounting, business law, and supply chain management.
The panel of judges, consisting of local business representatives and educators, evaluated students based on their understanding of the assigned business topic, their skill in answering questions, and their ability to demonstrate confidence and leadership.
"It was so inspiring to witness the passion and dedication of these students, and it’s evident that these young leaders are shaping the future of entrepreneurship, business, and innovation," said judge Lisa Burns of Creative Financial Group. "The future is bright!”
Upper Dublin students performed admirably in the competition, earning (13) First Place, (10) Second Place, (4) Fourth Place and (7) Fifth Place Awards. These students will continue on to the State Competition to be held in Hershey, Pa., in April 2025.
“Having this exciting opportunity to prepare and compete helps our students build confidence, develop critical skills, and gain real-world experience that will serve them in their future careers,” said Upper Dublin High School faculty member and FBLA Advisor, Jessica Sundling. “I am grateful to our panel of judges and our Upper Dublin student ambassadors for their efforts to make this possible. Also, we thank the Upper Dublin Public Library for providing an ideal environment for our competition.”
