As one borough manager prepares for departure, Ambler readies for a new leader.
Mary Aversa, who has served the community for over 23 years, retires at the end of January. To take over her responsibilities, the Ambler Borough Council announced Tuesday that they’ve selected a replacement.
Utilizing The Meyner Center for the Study of State and Local Government at Lafayette College, the council was assisted in the selection. Additionally, the council endured an extensive search, followed by a lengthy interview process to make its final choice. Kyle Detweiler was determined to be the best fit.
“Mr. Detweiler comes to Ambler from Telford Borough where he had been serving concurrently as both the Borough Manager and the Manager of the Telford Borough Municipal Authority,” said Ambler Borough Council President Glynnis Siskind. “Prior to his time there, Kyle served as Finance Director for the Whitemarsh Township Municipal Authority.”
According to a release from the borough, Detweiler received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College with a dual major in Business Administration and Media & Communications, and an MBA from La Salle University with concentrations in Management and Finance.
“Kyle also recently spent several seasons as the head football coach at Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor,” said Siskind.
Detweiler's start date in Ambler was Jan. 13.
“We look forward to welcoming Kyle to Ambler and having everyone meet him very soon,” said Siskind.
