A vehicular accident in Whitemarsh Township has traffic slowed, but getting by, along the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 276).
According to the county dispatch, a call was received around 12:37 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 with an accident, which has been moved over to the side of the road. The incident took place between the Plymouth and Fort Washington interchanges.
Injuries were reported including a woman hitting her head on the steering wheel. Early reports also noted that smoke was coming from one of the cars. All people were instructed to evacuate the vehicles.
Responding to the scene is the Community Ambulance Association of Ambler among other first responders.
Lanes of traffic are getting by the accident. Drivers are asked to use caution in the area.
