Ambler Borough Police Department is hiring new officers

The Ambler Borough Police Department recently announced that it is hiring new officers. 

Prospective officers will need to complete a written exam as well as a physical fitness test, both of which will be administered on the same day. 

The exam will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at the Springfield Township High School, 1801 Paper Mill Rd.

The police department is reminding all applicants that they need to report for registration at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the test. No one will be admitted after 8:30 a.m. All applicants must bring photo ID and two number 2 pencils. Applicants will need to dress appropriately or bring a change of clothes for the physical agility assessment.  

According to the Montgomery County Consortium of Communities, qualifications for Ambler Borough are: 

• Be at least 21 years of age by the date of hire;
• Be a U.S. Citizen;
• Possess a high school diploma or GED;
• Possess a valid driver’s license;
• Be physically and mentally fit or perform the duties of a police officer;
• Applicants must be free of tattoos on the face, ears, neck or any objectionable tattoos that are visible when wearing the Ambler Borough Police Department Uniform;
• Act 120 certified by the date of hire.
