Snow is typically free. In fact, people do a lot of backbreaking work to get rid of it, or sometimes pay money to have it plowed away.
But when snow falls on the hallowed ground of Lincoln Financial Field during a playoff victory? That snow isn't an inconvenience. It is, apparently, a business opportunity.
The Eagles partnered with sports and entertainment memorabilia specialists The Realest to authenticate the snow and ship it to buyers in dry ice. (Buyers could also pick up their snow in person at the Lincoln Financial Field ticket office.)
That may sound crazy to many of us. But the website has already sold out of the snow.
What makes this snow so special? The Realest's website explains:
The Philadelphia Eagles’ divisional-round victory over the Los Angeles Rams on January 19, 2025, will forever be remembered for being a snow covered victory! In a game defined by freezing temperatures, swirling snow, and playoff intensity, Saquon Barkley delivered a historic performance, rushing for 205 yards with explosive runs of 62 and 78 yards. The Eagles’ 28–22 triumph advanced them to the NFC Championship and cemented this game as one of the most iconic in franchise history.
To commemorate this incredible achievement, authenticated snow was collected directly from the end zone at Lincoln Financial Field immediately after the game. This isn’t your typical piece of memorabilia—it’s a tangible, frozen snapshot of the grit, passion, and determination that defined the iconic game. By preserving and authenticating the very snow that surrounded this monumental game, fans are offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect with the playoff experience like never before.
The sports memorabilia market is no stranger to grass clippings from the Linc turf, or dirt from a Citizens Bank Park postseason win.
But the snow is something else. Maybe that's part of the appeal?
In any event, if you attended Sunday's game against the Rams, check your boots, coat, or anything else you wore and left outside. You may be sitting on some frozen gold.
