Senator Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery) announced $249,600 in Act 13 grant funding for five community projects across the 12th District that will improve local outdoor spaces and watersheds.

“Parks, local trails, and recreation spaces make our communities such wonderful places to live, work, and play,” said Senator Collett. “This grant funding will ensure these five project locations are exceptionally developed and maintained for our neighbors, all while bringing new jobs to the 12th. I look forward to seeing them come to fruition so each of us has access to quality outdoor spaces.”

Act 13 grant recipients in the 12th District include:

  • Lansdale Borough – $32,400 for Neshaminy Basin Streambank restoration
  • Lower Gwynedd Township – $27,200 for a Penllyn Neighborhood Flood Study
  • Upper Dublin Township Municipal Authority – $70,000 for a Dreshertown Road Cross County Trail Extension
  • Variety, The Children’s Charity of the Delaware Valley – $50,000 for the installation of their Community Accessible Playground
  • Plymouth Township – $70,000 for John F. Kennedy Park rehabilitation

The Marcellus Legacy Fund was created by Act 13 of 2012 to provide for the distribution of unconventional gas well impact fees to counties, municipalities and commonwealth agencies.
