The Whitpain Township Police Department is honoring one of its own for a job well done.
Whitpain Township Police Department Lieutenant Frank Franco recently graduated from the MidAtlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (MALEEDS), held in Princeton, NJ. The 2025 program included 69 men and women from law enforcement agencies across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
"Lieutenant Franco had the opportunity to attend this premier executive development seminar held at Princeton University and learn from some of the most respected presenters in their field," Whitpain Township Police Department wrote.
"The training also provided the opportunity to network and learn from almost 70 other law enforcement executives from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania," it added. "Thank you to FBI-LEEDA for their great work."
The following is from the MALEEDS press release of the event:
MALEEDS has hosted its annual training conference at Princeton University since 1993. This unique educational opportunity is designed to provide advanced leadership training for police chiefs and law enforcement executives. It is recognized as one of the premier, most selective law enforcement leadership programs in the country.
“While we pride ourselves on our high-level educational program, the MALEEDS Executive Board also provides nightly networking opportunities to continue the learning experience outside of the classroom and encourages our attendees to foster relationships that will allow them to better themselves and their agencies,” said MALEEDS President Chuck Davall, Jr.
MALEEDS is one of more than 20 regional command colleges across the United States. It is a highly selective and successful program offering valuable insights into the complex challenges faced by today’s police leaders. Participation is by invitation only and is granted through a highly competitive application process. Class sizes are intentionally limited to promote meaningful interaction between instructors and attendees.
This dynamic and in-depth educational program is proudly co-sponsored by the Newark (NJ), New York (NY), and Philadelphia (PA) Divisions of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), along with active and retired law enforcement officers from the former Princeton Borough (NJ) and the Princeton Township (NJ) Police Departments, the River Vale (NJ) Police Department, and the Princeton University (NJ) Department of Public Safety.
Upon successful completion of MALEEDS, graduates become members of the broader FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA). FBI-LEEDA offers leadership training throughout the year and hosts an annual training conference each spring.
“We are extremely proud of the continued success of Mid-Atlantic LEEDS and remain committed to delivering the highest level of executive leadership training and networking opportunities to law enforcement professionals in the tri-state area,” said John DeVoe, Vice President of MALEEDS.
