Have you ever needed to make a quick stop, maybe to grab a coffee, pick up a smoothie, or dash in for a breakfast sandwich, only to realize you’re completely out of coins for the parking meter?

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Fortunately, there’s a friendly solution ready to help: meet Peter the Meter!

Peter the Meter is not your average parking meter. He’s designed with convenience in mind, especially for those quick errands. With just the press of a button, Peter offers you 15 minutes of complimentary parking time: no coins or credit cards needed. This courtesy window gives you just enough time to handle a short errand without worrying about getting a ticket or scrambling for change.

You’ll find Peter the Meter standing in several key spots around town:

  • Lindenwold Avenue
  • Cavalier Drive
  • Butler Avenue

These busy areas are popular stops for locals grabbing their morning pick-me-up or running quick errands, so Peter is right where you need him most.

Here’s how it works: when you approach one of these meters and need just a few minutes, simply press the courtesy button before inserting any coins. Once activated, you’ll receive 15 free minutes of parking time. If you decide to stay longer, you can then insert coins for additional time. But the key is to press the button first, once coins are inserted, the free time can’t be added.

This initiative aims to make parking more flexible and customer-friendly, especially for those quick trips that don’t require a full hour or more. Whether you’re in a hurry or just popping into your favorite shop, Peter the Meter has your back.
