A 25-year-old North Hills resident, Dayjuan Amore McBride, has been sentenced to nearly two years in county jail followed by probation after pleading guilty to multiple drug and firearm offenses stemming from a December 2023 incident in Upper Dublin Township.

Upper Dublin police observed a Volkswagen Jetta with its engine running in a marked handicapped space in a parking area between Linden and Logan avenues.

Police discovered McBride asleep in a running vehicle parked illegally in a handicapped space around 12:40 a.m. on December 5. Officers noted heavy window tinting and, upon approaching, observed bags of marijuana and suspected drug packaging materials inside. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed cocaine, heroin, marijuana, a digital scale, a drug ledger, and two firearms—one of which had been reported stolen.

A Glock 17 9mm handgun with an extended magazine loaded with 24 rounds and one in the chamber, and a rifle, were discovered during the search, police said.

McBride admitted to charges including possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, carrying an unlicensed and prohibited firearm, receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Investigators concluded the drugs were intended for distribution due to their quantity, packaging, and associated materials found in the vehicle.

Judge Risa Vetri Ferman sentenced McBride to 11½ to 23 months in Montgomery County jail, with eligibility for work release treated as house arrest. He will also serve five years of probation and must complete parenting classes. The seized firearms have been forfeited for destruction.
