Lower Gwynedd Township hiring for two positions

Lower Gwynedd Township is seeking a couple of qualified individuals to fill two roles within the township. 

Lower Gwynedd Township is currently seeking a qualified and motivated individual to fill a newly established part-time Fire Inspector position. This role will require 15 to 20 hours per week and represents an opportunity to contribute to the safety and well-being of the community.

As a technical public safety officer, the Fire Inspector will play a critical role in advancing fire prevention efforts across the Township. Under the direct supervision of the Fire Marshal, the Fire Inspector will be responsible for conducting comprehensive fire and life-safety inspections of non-residential buildings located throughout Lower Gwynedd Township. This includes, but is not limited to, commercial, industrial, institutional, and municipal properties.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in fire safety and emergency services. Applicants should possess a minimum of five years of experience in fire service or emergency management. In addition, candidates must hold Pennsylvania Fire Inspector I and II Certifications, demonstrating a strong foundation in fire prevention codes, hazard identification, and inspection protocols. A valid Pennsylvania Class-C driver’s license is also required, as the position involves travel throughout the Township to various inspection sites.

AP Specialist

Lower Gwynedd Township is also hiring for a Full-Time Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join its Finance Department. This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented and experienced professional looking to grow within a supportive municipal organization. The position offers strong growth potential and an attractive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and participation in a pension plan.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Township’s financial operations team and must be highly meticulous and organized, with demonstrated experience in a range of accounting and financial tasks. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Processing and managing all Accounts Payable functions
  • Escrow billing and tracking
  • Bank and account reconciliations
  • Cash receipts and accurate recordkeeping
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end financial procedures

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, as the position involves working with spreadsheets, financial tracking, and reconciliation tasks on a regular basis. Familiarity with municipal finance or government accounting is a plus but not required.
