Breaking: driver flips car onto its roof on Norristown Road near Route 309 on-ramp

The incident occurred near the on-ramp to Route 309 northbound on Wednesday at 12:03 p.m.

A person was trapped inside their vehicle after being involved in a two-car accident on Norristown Road near the Norristown Road ramp to Route 309 in Lower Gwynedd Township, according to reports. 

A Subaru SUV flipped over on its roof on Norristown Road after colliding with a red BMW four-door sedan, according to reports, around 12:03 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. 


A witness on scene was attempting to rescue the occupant from its vehicle at the time of the accident. The driver was able to escape before emergency crews arrived on scene. 


The BMW sustained heavy front end damage.

Injuries are unknown at this time.

Crews from the Wissahickon Fire Company are on scene. 

Expect minor traffic delays in the area of Norristown Road and Route 309.
