The accolades continue for the Upper Dublin High School baseball team.
Fresh off their first-ever PIAA state championship, the team is on a “victory tour” of sorts. Coaches, players, managers, and their families visited Harrisburg on June 25 to be honored by state officials and representatives at the State Capitol.
“It is my distinct honor to welcome the Upper Dublin baseball team, along with their coaches, managers, and families as we gather to celebrate their historic achievement as 2025 PIAA State champions.” said Sen. Maria Collett. “On June 12th, the Cardinals made history by capturing their very first ever PIAA 5A State championship, a milestone that makrs an unforgettable chapter for the Upper Dublin athletics. This remarkable team finished an extraordinary season with a commanding 8-2 victory in the state title game, a testament not only to their skill, but to their resilience and teamwork throughout the year. Under the outstanding leadership of head coach Ed Wall, now in his 11th season with the team.
“These young athletes demonstrated exceptional discipline, strategy, and sportsmanship qualities that brought them to the pinnacle of high school baseball,” Sen. Collett added. “In Pennsylvania, the Cardinals’ journey was defined by relentless determination, countless hours of practice, and the unwavering support of their families and community.
“Their historic season culminating in a 5A State championship has brought immense pride to their school and to the entire Upper Dublin community," Sen. Collett added. "Today we honor not only their athletic excellence, but also the character commitment and teamwork that made this victory possible.”
State. Rep. Ben Sanchez also congratulated the team on their achievement.
“It was an honor to welcome this year’s PIAA Champions, the Upper Dublin High School Baseball team, to the Capitol today along with my colleagues Senator Maria Collett and Rep. Melissa Cerrato,” said Sanchez. “These boys have much to be proud of and so do we. Congratulations again on a stellar season, boys!”
