With so much information and misinformation flowing on the internet, sometimes it can be difficult to tell what is real and what is not. Due to the plethora of information that makes its way to people’s eyes every day, Lower Gwynedd is here to help alleviate some of that uncertainty.

The Township is hosting $cam Jam, a program to help you spot and avoid scams, on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Spring House Estates, 728 Norristown Road, Lower Gwynedd, Pa. 19002. It is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

$cam Jam is a community event organized by the Lower Gwynedd Police Department to educate residents — especially seniors — about common scams and fraud schemes. The event typically features presentations from law enforcement, financial experts, and consumer protection agencies, offering tips on how to recognize, prevent, and report scams. Topics often include phone scams, online fraud, identity theft, and financial exploitation.

Pennsylvania House of Representative Liz Hanbidge will be on-hand, as well as:

The goal of Scam Jam is to empower individuals with knowledge to protect themselves from becoming victims of fraud. It also provides an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, share experiences, and connect with local authorities and resources. Events like these are increasingly important as scams become more sophisticated and widespread.

“Join us for a great resources,” it says on the event flier. “This is a free, non-commercial event and attendance is limited. Registration is strongly recommended.”

Those interested can register by emailing kcarson@pahouse.net or by calling (610) 277-3230.
