Student finalists chosen in 41st annual Upper Dublin Medals Program

The Upper Dublin High School student finalists have been selected in the 41st annual Upper Dublin Medals Program.

Selected for this recognition by the high school faculty are Avery Solomon, Maura Hayden, Dakota Mass, William Matthews, Asher Caplan, Connor Dynan and Anna DiMartile.

Nominations are still being accepted from the community in three categories: Citizen; Educator; and Community Business or Non-Profit Organization. Nominations are accepted online at www.udefoundation.org and are due no later than March 24. Full criteria for nominees are at the site along with a list of previous medal winners, said an Upper Dublin Education Foundation press release.

The Outstanding Citizen Medal is presented to a member of the community for recognition of exemplary service including charitable work, volunteering, long-term involvement or other special achievements that benefit the Upper Dublin Community.

The Outstanding Educator Medal is awarded to a full-time teacher or administrator currently employed by Upper Dublin School District who has made a significant contribution to the educational process.

The Outstanding Community Business or Non-profit Organization is one that has contributed significantly to enhancing opportunities for the students of Upper Dublin and/or improving the quality of life for citizens.

The medals program is presented cooperatively by Upper Dublin Township, Upper Dublin School District and the Upper Dublin Education Foundation (UDEF) which benefits from event proceeds.

Awards will be presented at the Upper Dublin Medals Reception & Ceremony on May 14 at the Upper Dublin Public Library. The reception will begin at 7 p.m., with the awards ceremony beginning at 8 p.m. Reservations will open online in April. Sponsors and donations are appreciated, said the release.
