Get ready to experience the magic of Wicked like never before at the Upper Dublin Library.

Whether you're a die-hard fan of the musical or new to the world of Elphaba and Glinda, this interactive event is your chance to belt out your favorite songs from the iconic production.

The event will be held on Thursday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the Shanis Auditorium. The event is intended for people of all ages.

“It is open to all ages,” said Jennifer Roberts, head of Children’s Services at the libary. “We are going to show the movie and we are hoping that people come dressed in costume and sing their hearts out.”

After the movie is over, the Friends of Upper Dublin Library will conduct a special crafting session for its Friends Donor Event on June 20, which will be Wizard of Oz themed.

Based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the film delves into the untold story of the witches of Oz, particularly focusing on the complex relationship between Elphaba, the misunderstood "Wicked Witch of the West," and Glinda, the popular "Good Witch." The musical, which premiered on Broadway in 2003, became a cultural phenomenon, and fans are eagerly awaiting the film’s release to see how the beloved story will be translated to the big screen.

The movie brings the story to life with stunning visuals, modern technology, and a star-studded cast. Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda, and Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, are both exceptional vocalists with impressive stage presence.
