The Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, in partnership with Or Hadash Synagogue, will host faith communities from the local community for an engaging town hall to discuss the PA Fairness Act and to stand together against hate crimes.
The event, "Addressing Hate and Bias in our Community," will take place on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00pm at Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, 411 Susquehanna Road, Ambler.
This engaging town hall will offer insight from community leaders, support from nonprofit organizations and live music. Guest speakers include ELCA Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod Bishop Bryan Penman, and Pennsylvania State Rep. Melissa Cerrato.
“Many people are feeling uncomfortable right now, especially the LGBTQIA+ community,” said Advocacy Team Leader Chris Tranchida. “The Interfaith Event on Addressing Hate and Bias in our Community will provide information about legislation, including the PA Fairness Act, and give everyone an opportunity to speak out against antisemitism, racism, xenophobia and all forms of hate violence.”
Guests at the event will be given an opportunity to share personal stories about their own experiences, fears and challenges.

The event was inspired by an anti-hate rally held in Montgomery County last fall. Members of UDLC’s Advocacy Team attended the peaceful display of unity in response to an area resident displaying the Nazi flag.
“We are proud to support our congregation in living out our faith through meaningful action," said Tranchida. “Through education, we encourage acceptance and justice for all people.”
