Update March 31: Bryson Stott says he and Brandon Marsh will "be out there for the walk-offs," but it appears they do not intend to pour water on whoever is getting interviewed after each win anymore:

Original Story

WASHINGTON — The Phillies have won each of their first two games in 2025, and neither time has the player interviewed on NBC Sports Philadelphia post game been doused with water, bubble gum and other dugout goodies by Bryson Stott and Brandon Marsh.

So is the celebration — which sometimes also included Alec Bohm and has become something fans at Citizens Bank Park look forward to after wins — dead?

Stott spoke to Tom McCarthy and John Kruk in the postgame interview and appeared to suggest as such:

But not so fast...

After Saturday's 11-6 win over the Nationals — and following the above interview Stott did on the broadcast — On Pattison asked the two architects where things stand.

We started with Stott, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored Saturday

Marsh had this to say of the future of the postgame celebration after a game where he also homered:

On Pattison's investigative team has determined that no final decision has been made on the future of the celebration. But if you thought after Bryce Harper said "they're not the daycare anymore" on Opening Day that there was some major in-house decision reached to end the celebration, you were thinking too deeply about this.

Perhaps if the Phillies complete the sweep of the Nationals Sunday, we'll learn more about the future of the postgame water celebration.
