Kyle Douglas Cortellini, 33, of the 800 block of Cherry Street in Landsdale, faces multiple felony charges in connection to a stolen mountain back, and other thefts, in Whitpain Township, according to police.

The Whitpain Township Police Department was contacted by a resident who lives Penllyn Blue Bell Pike in Whitpain Township for a report of a stolen TREK 3 mountain bike (valued up to around $1,200). The victim told police that he stores the black and red mountain bike in an unlocked shed/barn, and discovered that it was missing one morning. The mountain bike was the only item stored in the barn, according to police.

While checking the barn, the victim reportedly found a green backpack where the mountain bike was originally stored, as well as a black wallet belonging to a second victim, according to police.

While searching through the backpack, police officers discovered a valid driver’s license belonging to Cortellini, according to police.

Whitpain Township Police received a similar complaint days prior in the area of Skippack Pike for a report of a stolen wallet from a car that was parked in a driveway. While reviewing video footage, a male, wearing all black and carrying a large backpack that was consistent with the one worn by the actor, was seen entering the vehicle.

Officers ran Cortellini’s name through the National Crime Information Center and it revealed multiple active arrest warrants for theft from vehicles. He also had contact with multiple police departments regarding previous thefts.

Cortellini faces felony charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking, Criminal Trespassing, Theft From a Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property, and other misdemeanor charges.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on May 1.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
