The Upper Dublin School District’s Board of School Directors has approved the appointment of Dr. Daniel Ortiz as the next Principal of Upper Dublin High School.
Ortiz will succeed long-time principal Robert Schultz upon his upcoming retirement.
Ortiz will begin the transition this summer and will assume leadership of the high school for the 2025–2026 school year.
Ortiz brings over a decade of school leadership experience and a deep connection to Upper Dublin, having previously served as the Principal of Sandy Run Middle School and currently as Interim Principal of Jarrettown Elementary. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University, with additional degrees from Delaware Valley College, Wilkes University, and Ursinus College.
"I am extremely honored and proud to continue Upper Dublin High School's long-standing tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts," said Ortiz. "The opportunity to work with such dedicated staff members, hardworking students, and supportive families is truly a dream come true."
Following an extensive search, Ortiz received enthusiastic support from a hiring committee comprised of students, staff, families, and administrators.
“Dr. Ortiz brings a strong connection to our school community, a deep commitment to student success, and a clear understanding of the values that guide Upper Dublin,” said Superintendent Dr. Laurie Smith. “I am confident his thoughtful leadership will build on the great work already happening at our high school and continue its growth and success.”
The Upper Dublin School District extends its gratitude to Robert Schultz for his years of service and leadership and looks forward to celebrating his lasting impact on our high school as he approaches a well-earned retirement.
