In most situations, young children can't seem to keep their hands off anything, especially in public places. Parents are always on the look out for things their children shouldn't touch, whether it be because it's dirty, dangerous, or against the rules.
But at the Lower Gwynedd Township Touch-A-Truck event, such curiosity is encouraged. LGPD hosted the event, but many other representatives from local municipalities and organizations helped make the day a special event.
The third annual community event, hosted on May 17, gave families a fun-filled day to explore big trucks, meet local heroes, and enjoy all the sounds and sights of the community.
According to officials from Lower Gwynedd Township, the Touch-A-Truck event brought together more than 1,500 community members.

Held under sunny skies and perfect weather, the event offered residents of all ages a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with an impressive array of emergency vehicles, construction equipment, and service trucks. From climbing aboard fire engines and police vehicles to exploring utility trucks and robotics displays, children and families enjoyed hands-on experiences that both entertained and educated.
There also was a sensory-friendly (no noise) hour, specifically for adults and children with special needs.
The Touch-A-Truck event has become a tradition in Lower Gwynedd, and this year was no exception. Smiles, laughter, and the sound of sirens and horns filled the air as neighbors came together to celebrate community, safety, and service.
Lower Gwynedd Township extended its appreciation to the many partners, organizations, and volunteers whose dedication and generosity made this event such a memorable occasion.
