Hundreds of community members packed the Montgomery Township Community and Recreation Center, 1030 Horsham Road, Montgomeryville, on May 17 for the annual Senior Expo.
The purpose of the event, hosted by Sen. Maria Collett, is to connect older adults in Pennsylvania's 12th Senate District with essential resources and services. The free event featured giveaways, health screenings, and a variety of other wellness resources geared towards older adults.
Services such as COVID-19, RSV, Shingles, and Pneumonia vaccinations administered by local pharmacies.
“Every Pennsylvanian deserves access to the tools they need to live and age with dignity,” said Sen. Collett, who serves as the Democratic Chair of the Senate Aging & Youth Committee. “It was wonderful to see so many neighbors take advantage of the wide range of resources available—from free health screenings and benefits assistance to social programs and more.”
Additionally, refreshments have been generously donated by local businesses, including the 7-Eleven at 791 Horsham Road in North Wales and the Wawa Community Giving Program.
“I’m grateful to our incredible vendors and hosts at the Montgomery Township Community and Recreation Center for their partnership in supporting aging adults across our community,” Sen. Collett added. “I look forward to continuing to advocate for aging Pennsylvanians and their priorities as I return to Harrisburg in June.”
