Welsh Road is now open between Stump Road and Gwynedd Lea Drive, according to Montgomery County officials.

A sinkhole opened in the middle of Welsh Road on May 19, forcing authorities to close the roadway between Stump Road and Gwynedd Lea Drive for the remainder of the week.

The sinkhole was caused by the rupture of a 20-inch water main, which undermined the road’s structural integrity.
