Construction project to create 24/7 closures for more than a week

A stretch of Township Line Road will be closed around-the-clock for more than a week as PennDOT crews carry out roadway reconstruction work.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Township Line Road will be closed 24/7 between U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) and Swede Road from Monday, April 27, through Tuesday, May 5.

The closure will impact both eastbound and westbound traffic, with drivers directed to follow a detour using Germantown Pike, U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike), and Swede Road.

Officials said local access will be maintained in a limited capacity. A single eastbound lane will remain open for local traffic and emergency vehicles, utilizing portions of Dekalb Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

PennDOT officials noted that the full closure will allow crews to complete the work more quickly and ahead of planned single-lane traffic restrictions on Germantown Pike in the area.
