Volunteers needed during week of May 5 to assist with Montgomery County Senior Games

Registration for the Senior Games is now open, with age eligibility beginning at 50.

The Montgomery County Senior Games is looking for volunteers during the week of May 5 to May 9 to assist at various sporting events, including pickleball, horseshoes, golf, swimming, archery, tennis and more.

Registration for participation is now open for the event as well, with all participants required to register online only. No phone or mail-in registrations are accepted.

The events take place at various recreational sites throughout Montgomery County.

Participants must be 50 years old in 2025 to be eligible for the Senior Games. (Yes, that said 50.)

Volunteers are needed for the following:

Monday, May 5

Pickleball at Upper Merion Community Center, 431 W Valley Forge Road, King of Prussia from 7:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and from 12:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Badminton at Montgomery County Community College’s Health Sciences Center, 340 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Bocce at Eagleville Park, 100 Parklane Dr., Eagleville from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.


Tuesday, May 6

Golf at Jeffersonville Golf Club, 2400 W. Main St., Norristown, from 7 a.m. to noon  

Cornhole at Montgomery Township Community & Recreation Center, 1030 Horsham Road, Montgomeryville from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Archery at Masons Mill Park, 3500 Masons Mill Road, Hatboro from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Horseshoes at Wentz Run Par, 1000 Anvil Lane, Blue Bell from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Swimming at Greater Plymouth Community Center, 2910 Jolly Road, Plymouth Meeting from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Wednesday, May 7

Billiards at Markley Billiards, 1713 Markley St., Norristwn from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.


Thursday, May 8

Tennis at Memorial Park, 300 E. Main St., Lansdale from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Darts at Pennypack Community Center, 130 Spring Ave., Hatboro from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Expo & Lunch Set-Up at Montgomery County Community College from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.


Friday, May 9

Stationary Bike at Montgomery County Community College’s Health Sciences Center from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Walking at Montgomery County Community College from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.


The county Senior Games, according to its website, combine sports and recreation with fellowship among participants and volunteers.

The mission of the Senior Games is to stimulate senior adults in Montgomery County to be active in sports and recreational events in order to maintain physical and mental well-being.

According to its website, participants who are having issues registering online first, and would like to register in-person, may do so at the following township buildings:

  • Whitpain Township, 960 Wentz Road, Blue Bell (Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
  • Hatfield Township, 1950 School Road, Hatfield (Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
  • Lower Providence Township, 100 Parklane Drive, Eagleville (Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
